Hello! I'm a software engineer and community manager here at inxton. I'm probably working on a new feature or shooting a video for you...when I'm not in the office I ride on the wakeboard 🏄♂️ or I'm planning a trip somewhere🗺
PLCopen has released guidelines for Object Orientation!
❔…What's PLCopen you may ask?
It's an independent worldwide organization founded in 1992 with members like Intel, ABB, arm, Rexroth, Beckhoff, or Siemens, providing efficiency in industrial automation based on the needs of users.
🤔…What does it mean?
It means that there's a place for object-oriented programming (OOP) in automation - without a doubt! It's backed by users and companies.
🥳…Why are we so happy about it?
PLCopen has introduced transparency and openness, and it's slowly tearing down the walled gardens of automation.
We know that this is the way to go, and we're happy that an organization like PLCopen shares our beliefs.
♥...TcOpen
Proof of this is the open-source initiative TcOpen, where we share decades worth of experience in OOP and industrial automation.
Why do we do it?
We want to build better software for everyone - for the users, but also the programmers, so they never get a 3 am call that something is not working.
